Since 1989, CPF has offered research grants related to cleft and craniofacial anomalies. CPF currently offers five grants totaling $35,000:

• The Etiology of Cleft Lip/Palate and Craniofacial Anomalies Research Grant ($10,000), supported by the Cleft Palate Foundation
• The Cleft Lip/Palate and Craniofacial Anomalies Research Grant ($10,000), supported by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of Rosemont, IL
• The Children’s Craniofacial Association/CPF Research Grant ($5,000), supported by Children’s Craniofacial Association of Dallas, TX and the Cleft Palate Foundation
• Two Junior Investigator Research Grants ($5,000 each), one supported by Synthes Maxillofacial beginning in 2012, the other by the Cleft Palate Foundation.

The breadth of research topics funded over the past 22 years is quite extensive. Grants are open to applicants who have completed an accredited training program related to a discipline recognized by the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association (ACPA).
